Mom’s Grilled Cheese: Anything with grilled cheese gotta be good.

Mom’s Grilled Cheese: (A) 800 W Georgia St (N) 604-767-9768
All I had in mind while driving down to Vancouver in the rain was please god please let it be raining here and please don’t rain on my grilled cheese, PLEASE DON’T RAIN ON MY GRILLED CHEESE DAMMNIT. Guess what? It got sunny as soon as we got in downtown. Well not exactly sunny but as long as it wasn’t raining on my grilled cheese, I was very incredibly happy.

  • Roasted Tomato Soup Shot ($1): When people say shot, I automatically picture a shot glass with grey goose in it yum yum. So this was a bit bigger than my kind of grey goose shot which makes me happy haha. I thought the soup was pretty good and even though she gave it to us before the grilled cheese came out, I would like it more if it was given after! That’s just me though.
  • Jackson 3 ($8.50): Three pieces of sourdough surrounded by melted, Brie, Boursin and Gruyere. Yep, triple-decker on board. I thought it was a good amount of cheese, just 3 pieces together is a bit much. Yep, even for me. Monkey boy and I shared it (thank god) so it was a bit easier eat. I can’t imagine myself or anyone for crying out loud, eating both of it alone.
  • The Fat Elvis ($3.50) Peanut butter & banana with a sprinkle of smoked sea salt. Added bacon for $1.50. Okay seriously, I love peanut butter & banana! But with bacon? PER-FEC-TION screaming out loud. Except we all thought the peanut butter was overwhelming (too much of a good thing can be a bad thing), or at least they could’ve added more banana, if so then it’s jingle bells all the way.
  • Mom’s Meatloaf Grilled Cheese ($8.50): Topped with marinara sauce, and surrounded with melted Mozzarella and Parmesan. The meatloaf was a bit dry, other than that.. I don’t remember much about it. Maybe I only had a small dying last bite but I don’t know. It’s a heavy sandwich, if you want to fill yourself up, that’s it my friend.
  • Way to steal my heart with the chips and pickle added to every sandwich!
  • Okay I didn’t even know there was gluten free bread and vegan cheese available. On my healthy days that I want to “cheat”. I guess this will be my truck.
  • Huge line up! We came right when everyone in downtown decided to come out of their closet and literally waited half an hour for our sandwiches.
  • They’re located right next to the art gallery!
  • The sandwiches we got were on the speciality section so it was a bit more expensive. But the regular menu is about $5 bucks. You can get a pretty gourmet grilled cheese here. It’s a “you got to try this” kind of thing. Just for the heck of saying, YEAH I TRIED MOMS GRILLED CHEESE you’re not the only one okay when somebody brings it up.
